Montessori Toddler program
Toddlers want to do things for themselves. Our rooms are set up so they can: everything is within reach, every activity has a purpose, and educators guide rather than direct.

Independence, one small step at a time
In the toddler years, children move from being cared for to caring for themselves and their surroundings. The five Montessori learning areas are all present in the toddler rooms, scaled to suit 2 and 3-year-olds.
- Practical life: pouring, spooning, washing hands, putting on a coat, tidying up
- Language: songs, stories and rich conversation that grow vocabulary and self-expression
- Sensorial: sorting, matching and grading by colour, shape, size and texture
- Grace and courtesy: greeting, sharing space and taking turns

Rooms designed for toddlers
- Toilets and nappy change facilities inside each classroom, which makes toilet learning natural and unhurried
- Air conditioning and ducted heating in every room
- A large, landscaped outdoor play area shared between every two classrooms, designed for free play, social skills and gross motor development
- All meals and snacks made fresh daily by our chef, catering for nutritional, cultural and religious needs
- Nappies, wipes, tissues and sunscreen included
Our Buffalo Campus has two dedicated classrooms for 2 to 3-year-olds, and our Ballan Campus welcomes toddlers too.
Part of every week
Music, sport and time outdoors
Toddlers join age-appropriate sessions of our Music Program and Sport Program. Younger children focus on simple rhythm and movement, building up as they grow.
Next step: Pre-Kinder
From around 3 years of age, children move into our Pre-Kinder and Kindergarten rooms, where government-funded kinder is integrated into the Montessori day. Because the philosophy and routines stay the same, the transition feels familiar.

Tours run Monday to Friday at 10:30 am, by appointment, at both campuses. We will do our best to fit the day you choose.
