Privacy policy
We respect your privacy and handle personal information in line with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles. This page explains what we collect through this website, why, and what we do with it.
Who we are
Wyndham Vale Montessori Centre operates two early learning services in Wyndham Vale, Victoria:
- Buffalo Campus, 1-5 Buffalo Crescent, Manor Lakes VIC 3024, operated by Sunnyside Early Learning Centre Pty Ltd (ACN 162 074 357) as trustee for the Montessori Unit Trust.
- Ballan Campus, 13 Hirata Boulevard, Wyndham Vale VIC 3024, operated by Sunnyside Early Learning Centre No. 2 Pty Ltd (ACN 630 061 504) as trustee for the Montessori Unit Trust No. 2.
In this policy, “we”, “us” and “our” mean these operators.
What this policy covers
This policy covers personal information collected through this website and through the enquiries that start here, such as tour requests, phone calls and emails.
When a child enrols with us we collect more detailed information, including health, family and Child Care Subsidy details, as required by the Education and Care Services National Law and Regulations and Family Assistance Law. That information is handled under our centre privacy and confidentiality policy, which is available from either campus on request.
What we collect through this website
- Tour requests. Your name, phone number, email address, preferred campus, your child's age group, your preferred tour day and start date, and anything you choose to tell us in the message box.
- Emails and phone calls. The details you give us when you contact a campus directly.
- Job enquiries. If you email us a CV or expression of interest, the information it contains.
- Technical information. Our hosting provider records standard server log data such as IP address, browser type, pages requested and the time of the request. We use it only to keep the site secure and working.
We ask you not to include sensitive information, such as medical details, in the website form. We will ask for anything we need in person or through our secure enrolment system.
Why we collect it and how we use it
- To reply to your enquiry and arrange your tour
- To tell you about availability, our waiting list and the enrolment process, where you have asked about them
- To consider you for a role, if you have sent us an expression of interest
- To maintain and improve the security and performance of the website
We do not sell your information, and we do not add you to a marketing list because you made an enquiry.
Waiting list and enrolment applications
The “Apply now” buttons on this site open SmartCentral, a third-party enrolment system. Information you enter there is collected by us through SmartCentral and is also subject to SmartCentral's own privacy policy.
Cookies, analytics and third-party content
This website does not use advertising or tracking cookies. Some pages include content from other providers, which may set their own cookies or receive your IP address when the content loads:
- Google Maps, shown on our campus and contact pages
- Google Fonts, used to display the site's typefaces
- Cloudflare, which hosts and protects this website
Links to other websites, including Facebook and SmartCentral, take you to services with their own privacy practices.
Who we share information with
Tour requests are delivered by email to the campus you choose. We use service providers to host this website and to deliver those emails, and some of them may process data outside Australia. We take reasonable steps to make sure they handle your information securely.
We otherwise disclose personal information only where you have agreed, or where we are required or authorised to do so by law.
How we store and protect it
Enquiries are kept in our campus email accounts and administration systems, which are accessible only to authorised staff. We keep enquiry details for as long as they are needed to respond to you and to manage any waiting list place, and then delete or de-identify them, unless the law requires us to keep them for longer.
Photos of children
Photographs of children appear on this website and our social media only with the written consent of a parent or guardian. If you would like a photograph of your child removed, contact your campus or the email address below and we will remove it promptly.
Accessing or correcting your information
You can ask to see the personal information we hold about you, or ask us to correct or delete it, at any time. Email management@montessoriwyndhamvale.com.au or contact either campus. We will respond within a reasonable time, usually within 30 days.
